Five Senses

This senses drill is a short mindfulness rep that places attention in the room you are in. Write the details you notice, even when they seem ordinary.

List five things you can see from where you are sitting. Use color, shape, or position so each item is specific.

List four things you can feel on your skin or in your posture, such as the chair, your sleeves, the floor, or the air.

List three sounds, including quiet ones. Say whether each is near or far, without judging it as good or bad.

Name two smells, or note that the air smells neutral, and one taste. If taste is faint, describe that plainly.

Write one sentence about where your attention sits now compared with when you started. Mention any wander without scolding it.
