TIPP Reset

TIPP is a DBT set of body tools for moments when emotion is too loud for a good speech. Practice them once while you are calmer so they are easier to find later.

Write a cooling step you can use, such as cool water on your face or holding a cold drink. If you already know a cold shock is unsafe for your body, write a milder option instead.

Choose a short burst of movement, like fast stairs or jumping jacks for up to a minute. Write the exact move and the count.

Describe a slow out-breath pattern you will use for one minute. Write the inhale count and the longer exhale count.

Pick one area, such as shoulders or hands. Write how you will tense it and then release it on the out-breath, and how many rounds you will do.

Rank the four tools from most usable to least in the rooms you actually live in. Circle the one you will practice tomorrow and where the supplies will sit.

Free for personal use. Commercial use requires a Paid plan. Republishing is not allowed.
